Note that the Brix requires the Windows 7 64-bit installer. From the bottom panel, remove the 2.5' HD cage (mine had two screws, but its meant to have 4) and install the 2.5' SSD into the cage.

Install the low power (1.3V) RAM into the single slot - need to insert it at an angle fist, then push it downwards until it clicks into place.

Inside the unit, remove the tape holding down the SATA cable.

Take off the bottom panel by unscrewing the 4 black screws.

The update process will start and will go through the following phases:

The BIOS file will be loaded into memory, and a prompt will appear to confirm the update of BIOS. Select вЂњUpdate BIOS from DriveвЂќ, and navigate the USBВ file system using the arrow keys and key. Optional: Save a copy of the current BIOS into the USB drive by selecting вЂњSave BIOS to DriveвЂќ InsertВ the USB drive into the target motherboard, and reach the Q-Flash Utility by rebooting/restarting system, pressing during POST toВ enterВ BIOS, and at BIOS screen. Q-Flash requires this file system on the drive in order to read from it. Step 1: Download Latest/Desired BIOS Version, and Extract FilesДownload the latest/desired version from the manufacturerвЂ™s website, and double-clickВ to extract the files within it.Д¬opy/Extract the files into a USB drive with FAT32/16/12 file system.

Select вЂњUpdate BIOS from DriveвЂќ, and selectВ the new BIOS version.

Optional: Select вЂњSave BIOS to DriveвЂќ to save a copy of the current BIOS to USB drive (took me a minute using Core 2 Duo E7500 processor).

Insert USB drive into USB port and Start/Reboot the motherboard.

Download the BIOS version and extract BIOS files ontoВ aВ USB drive with a simple file system like FAT/FAT32 (I used BIOS version F9, and my file was named G41MES2L.F9).
